So far I've heard rumors but nothing official.Is there gonna be a new Batman movie with Christian Bale?
The last rumor I heard was that Nolan was so pissed with Ledger's suicide (because he'd planned for the Joker to show up in 3) that he decided not to do a 3ed unless he could think of something spectacular to replace his original idea with.



The most credible word, however, is that he "doesn't do trilogies" %26amp; that while Warner Brothers wants to cash in an a 3ed flick, Nolan's not on-board.



WB may have to wait another 5-10 years for another completely unrelated arch of continuity-slapping Batman films to be made, provided DC Comics permits it %26amp; the new director is greenlighted.



When it comes to unmade movies "in the works," the IMDB is an uncredible source of information. They keep changing dates, production teams, %26amp; casts based on rumors %26amp; will do it for years until the project is deemed dead.



Nolan's 3ed Batman movie, much like theologists' theories on the date of the 'Appocolyse' could become a sufferer of "Duke Nukem Forever Syndrome".

The thing made over a billion dollars. WB wants it made as soon as possible. Chris Nolan is also making the sci-fi movie Inception and needs to come up with the story; a good one at that. Give him as long as he needs to make a good movie. 2012 is the earliest I'm expected.
An untitled Batman film is in development for a 2011 release by Warner Bros. Pictures.



Nolan nor Bale have officially signed on.

There is nothing signed. The director said that he doesn't like lining projects up one after another. I have it on pretty good authority that "The Riddler" will be the next bad guy. A couple actors being thrown into that are pretty far apart as far as success goes though. The first one is pretty well know, Johnny Depp. I am on the fence about that. The other one is Anthony Michael Hall, he played the reporter in TDK. I don't recall hearing his name in the movie. I have heard Phillip Seymour Hoffman as "The Penguin" possibly. Angelina Jolie as "Catwoman". I think that would be a disaster. Her casting would take over the entire movie and I think the story would get lost. Christopher Nolan (the director) has actually done a pretty good job of getting "actors" in there. Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, even Aaron Eckhart was great. I hope I have helped you.
