Joseph Gordon-Levitt, contrary to most rumours, is going to be portraying an assistant policeman--a role not as big as everyone else initially thought (he was going to play the Riddler).
The Joker will not be featured in The Dark Knight Rises, for two reasons--it's a totally new plot AND I think it would be hard to follow Heath Ledger's incredible performance in the last movie.
