2. They have said they will not bring the joker back as someone else.
There is no need to replace H.L., because there is no need to have The Joker in the next movie.
There are a lot of different villians in Batman comics to choose, why repeating the Joker? This is not the old Superman movie series where Lex Luthor was involved in almost every film.
I think it is a good idea bringing J. Depp, but as The Riddler, not as the Joker. Danny De Vito did not replaced Jack Nicholson after Batman (1989), he played another character; same with Johnny Depp, to play another character.Who is going to replace Heath Ledger in the new Batman movie?
I don't know if there is even going to be another Batman movie. Christopher Nolan, the director of these last two Batman movies, said that it was hard to make Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as good as they were. But, supposing that they did make another one, I think that Seth Green would make a funny Joker, but he'd probably be more suited to play Basil Karlo, A.K.A. Clayface. I don't know if they intend to make the Joker appear in another one, so they might have another villain, like Clayface appear instead.
If you'd asked 10 years ago, I'd have said "Mark Hamill" (Luke Skywalker), but even then I think he was already too damn old for the part, like how Vincent Price is too dead to play Ra's Al Ghul when he'd have been perfect for the part.
I could see Jhonny Depp playing the current comic book Joker (the Joker was completely revamped in 2007) but I really can't think of anyone to play the Joker Nolan has in mind. Perhaps someone who has played one of crows in "The Crow" movies/TV series, or Keaton from the Beetlejuice movie...he might be too old now, but I could totaly see it.Who is going to replace Heath Ledger in the new Batman movie?
The movie won't feature the Joker. There are rumours that the movie will feature Angelina Jolie as Catwoman, and also Johnny Depp as the Riddler, or Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin. None of these have been confirmed yet. I would like to see Jim Carrey as the riddler again, he is still young enough for the part
